An Interesting Morning
by littlesarahbigworld
Went to a Carol’s pastry shop with Kevin this morning.
It’s down an alley-way, inside of a big garage. There are two old men who bake everything, and one late-middle-aged man who runs the register.
We had to eat our turn-overs in the car, because Kevin had to get to work.
…and because I had to take Al, the cat we’re watching as part of our house-sitting gig, to the kitty ER. She hasn’t had anything to eat or drink in 3 days, can’t walk, stopped meowing.
At the vet’s, I signed a “Do Not Resuscitate” form. Now I’m waiting to hear back from her family, who are in China until July 15th and reachable only by e-mail.
Also I might buy some new shoes later. A couple of pairs did not survive the trip to France. So that’s what my day’s looking like.
Oh man! I love Carol’s! I used to go there when my sister lived in that hood. Was the creepy carousel horse made of old milk jugs still there? Reading your blog is fun. You write funny stuff.
Yay, thank you. I’m house-sitting right now just around the corner, and it is dangerous to know that I could eat fresh-baked pastry every morning. I THOUGHT I LEFT ALL THAT BEHIND IN FRANCE. Oh, dear.
