Kitchen Time

by littlesarahbigworld

I have been working so much, Friends. Too much. Too much work, too much play, not enough Sarah Time, which (honestly) tends to just be Kitchen Time.

Roasting vegetables, baking bread.

Sometimes with music and Dance Party of One, sometimes with silence and sunshine.

Always with a certain sense of grace, and calm. An appreciation for Life’s small gifts–fresh food from the garden, a shift of the light, new colors, tastes, textures…

I can’t imagine ever tiring of the way sunlight filters in through the window, of produce hand-picked and scrubbed clean, resting on the counter. The soft clatter of mixing bowls and measuring spoons and cups, comfort of an old apron, and hours passed quietly alone.

Welcoming Fall, then Winter, then Spring…
